IconSiam

I have to say this is a one of a kind shopping mall you have never experienced anywhere. The name “IconSiam” is not just the name, but it truly reflects the identity of this shopping mall as the “Icon” of the city. Starting from the location by the Chaophraya riverside, it is probably the only shopping mall in Bangkok by the riverside plus there are piers where you can directly access to the venue by public boats. The pier at IconSiam also serves many river cruise lines, offering a romantic dinner experience along the river. Of course, you can check the river cruise dinner rate from our affiliate link here.

With this unique location, IconSiam is also well-known for its annual iconic ‘countdown’ event where fireworks and concerts by the riverside are arranged here every new year and the event is broadcasted all over the world. I have to say the new year’s fireworks at IconSiam is really really a hype where everyone around the world is eager to attend this event and experience the fireworks once in a lifetime. Last year, I had a chance to talk to sales representatives of a hotel located right at the opposite of IconSiam where you can see the fireworks from your bedroom balcony. They mentioned that every new year, especially on the 31st of December, the price of their room can go up like 6-7 times from their normal room rate and it gets higher and higher every year! But the good thing is, there could be some room available for you at a nice price if you book it early enough. Check out the price of hotels near IconSiam from our affiliate link here. For sure, it cannot be a normal room rate like during a working day in the rainy season, but it is definitely not 6-7 times from the normal room rate.

Back to the iconic stuff of this shopping mall. Not only the exclusive activities this shopping mall offers due to its location, but inside also offers great shopping experiences as well. I would say IconSiam is a perfect blend between luxury shopping experience, local culture, and entertainment all together in one place. Just read through the article and you will see why I said that as well as what you should not miss when you visit there.

For a proper lunch or dinner meal, there will be 2 zones where you can find restaurants. The first zone is located on the Ground floor in front of the SookSiam zone. Many restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and milk tea shops can be found in this area.

The second zone is located on the 6th floor. Here you will find more ‘serious’ restaurants which cater more than coffee and snacks. Some restaurants offer ‘on the deck’ dining where you can experience the ‘feeling’ of riverside dining and enjoy the view of Chaophraya river.
