Nowadays, it has transformed into a marketplace filled with a wide variety of small, everyday items—many of which may seem simple but are surprisingly hard to find and sometimes come with expensive price tags. A wide range of everyday items such as folding umbrellas, raincoats, reusable shopping bags, children’s clothing, pajamas and stationeries are sold in large quantities throughout the street of Sampheng. By MRT
Get off the train at MRT Wat Mangkorn Station and use exit 2. Turn left to Charoenkrung 16 street and walk along the street for around 200 meters to Yaowarat road. Cross the street and continue to walk for another 170 meters, passing the old market. The entrance to the Vanich 1 street or Sampheng is on the right.
By Boat
If you stay in a hotel close to the Chaophraya river, it is recommended to come by boat. Get off the boat at Ratchawong Pier and walk along Ratchawong road for around 400 meters. You will arrive in the middle of Vanich 1 street or Sampheng shopping alley.
