1. Lifestyle shops for your quality of life
You will find many shops offering crafted, creative and well designed items such as Loft, a stationary shop on the 2nd floor. Items you may find here are cute notebooks, creative stickers for your scrapbook, designed paper bags, iconic postcards where you could not find it anywhere as well as imported pens from brands around the world. Loft also offers ranges of creative items which improves your quality of life such as a neck pillow with massage feature, standing for a hair dryer which helps you to dry your hair without holding the dryer, etc.
On the same floor, you can also find an electronics zone which offers gadgets such as designed headphones and keyboards with lights as well as some electronics collectibles such as vinyl and vinyl players.
On the 3rd floor, there is also a dedicated zone called “O.D.S – Object of Desire Store” for the highly creative local labels for everyday items and souvenirs. Items you may find here such as T-shirts and cotton bags with the ‘Thai-Thai’ design you will never find anywhere, porcelain with the unique design, bags made from recycled material, inhaler and many local premium spa products, etc.
Apart from the creative items above, there are also many apparel shops you may find, with great design and looks. The G floor (Ground) is the floor for female apparels. Here you will find brands such as Alexander Wang, Marimekko and Issey Miyake for you to choose how you want to express yourself. There will also be a selected section from the shopping mall where you can find more creative labels from both local and international.
The M floor (1 level up from G floor) is male apparel floor. Here you can find a section called ‘discovery selection’ for male apparel where you can easily find a nice suit and a pair of leather shoes from the selected brands for you.
The 1st floor (1 level up from M floor) is travel and outdoor as well as the sports apparel. Here you will find international sport brands such as The North Face and Adidas stores.
2. Entertainment venue for family
The entire 4th floor is the entertainment venue where you can spend time with your kids on many activities. Siam Discovery houses the first Madame Tussauds in Southeast Asia. Madame Tussauds is famously known for its display of realistic wax figures of famous people from around the world. You can purchase a ticket at the front counter and enjoy your immersive experience in a setting with your favorite actors/actress and public figures. Moreover, you can also enjoy the arcades and simulator machines which offer a glimpse of sports activities such as archerying, skiing and golfing with your kids, or buying a ticket to send them on the gokart racing.
Opening hours
Siam Discovery opens daily from 10:00 until 22:00. Some shops may close earlier than the shopping mall. Please make sure the shop you want to visit is still open by the time you arrive.
Entrance fee
Siam Discovery is a shopping mall. Therefore everyone can enter for free. However, items and services in shops are not free.
How to get there?
By BTS
This is the most convenient way to visit Siam Discovery. Get off the train station at BTS National Stadium station. At the exit of the concourse level, there will be a skybridge called “One Siam Skywalk” or “MBK Bridge” which connects you right to the shopping mall.
You can also walk from the BTS Siam station or other shopping mall in the area such as Siam Paragon and Siam Square One without leaving the building. All you have to do is you need to enter Siam Center and go to the 3rd floor to find the skybridge which connects to the 2nd floor of Siam Discovery. If you could not find it, of course you can always go to the ground level and walk along the normal pedestrian where you can feel the heat.
By MRT
If you come from another part of Bangkok where MRT is closer and accessible to you, then MRT can also be a good choice. First, you need to transit to the BTS skytrain network which can be done either from MRT Silom station or MRT Sukhumvit station.
From MRT Silom station, you will transit to BTS at BTS Sala Daeng station. On this line, you can go directly to the BTS National Stadium Station without any further transit and access directly to the shopping mall right from the front of the BTS station.
If you come from MRT Sukhumvit station, you will transit to BTS at BTS Asok station. From this point, you have to choose whether you want to stop at BTS Siam station and walk according to the recommendation above (see “By BTS” topic) or do another transit to BTS Silom line (dark green line) at BTS Siam station. The transit between the BTS line at this point will be very easy, just using the platform on the opposite side, same floor after you get off the train at BTS Siam Station and continue a ride for 1 more station. The fare should not be different even if you ride one more station, as it already reached its ceiling price at this point.
By Taxi/Tuktuk
It is possible to go here by Taxi or Tuktuk. The driver may charge you an overpriced rate as traffic is really bad in that area but you can always negotiate for a lower price. As a local, I recommend negotiating the price first before entering the vehicle and keep in mind both you and the driver can always reject the deal.
By Car
Siam Discovery has parking spaces. If you drive a car, you can park here. The parking can be accessed from both Rama I road and Phaya Thai road. However, it can be very difficult to find the spot due to its crowdedness.
There will also be a parking fee applied. For the standard rate, the first 2 hours are free. From the 3rd until the 6th hour will be 30 Baht per hour. From the 7th hour onwards, it is 60 Baht per hour. Of course you will get more free hours if you purchase items or services inside the shopping mall, and the rate will be different from the standard rate. Please always study the parking fee again at the shopping mall in case you have some spending amount in your mind, so you can save more.
