Terminal 21 is a shopping mall everyone wants to visit. Not only for shopping, but also to enjoy the funny vibes of the shopping mall. You will feel amazed by one of a kind character of this shopping mall where you can never find anywhere in the world.

A Shopping Mall with Unique Theme: World’s Terminal

The theme of Terminal 21 is in its name. Once you arrive at each floor, the familiar arrival sign at the terminal of an airport welcomes you. Each floor will be designed as if you were walking in a popular city in the World. At the end of the day, you will visit almost every top destination around the world. Here are the theme of each floor:

  • LG floor (Underground): Caribbean
  • Ground floor: Rome
  • M Floor: Paris
  • 1st Floor: Tokyo
  • 2nd Floor: London
  • 3rd Floor: Istanbul
  • 4th-5th Floor: San Francisco
  • 6th Floor: Hollywood

If you notice closely, each floor will have a different theme. From the bottom is the theme of Rome, Paris and Tokyo.

There are props for you to take photos everywhere. These props are usually a popular thing in that city. Such as the Double deck bus of London or Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco. Feel free to stop by and take a snap.

The hidden treasure of this shopping mall is not only in the design of the hallway, but the restroom also has a theme and its signature design in each floor as well! I recommend trying to use the restroom here. It is beautiful, clean, equipped with smart toilets and – the most important thing – it is free. If you have time, go visit the restroom on each floor as well.

Great Quality Local Products at Reasonable Price

Each floor has a specific category of shops which makes it easier for you to navigate and look up what you want to buy. Most shops here are local brands and independent stalls, ranging from apparels, personal care to souvenirs. Global brands also appear in this shopping mall, but just very few. Here are categories of shops you can find:

  • LG floor: Gourmet Market, a supermarket with many Thai snacks and fresh fruits for you to buy.
  • Ground floor and M floor: Fashion Brands such as Jaspal, LYN, Birkenstock, etc. H&M is located on the 1st floor. There is also a popular store such as POP MART for those who are fans of art toys as well.
  • 1st Floor: Female apparels. Most of the shops here are local independent stalls where they design their own clothes or jewellery. There is also an Eve and Boy cosmetics shop located on this floor as well.

Wallet Friendly Food Court and Restaurant

On the 5th floor, with San Francisco theme, there is a huge area of food court called “Pier 21” where you can find popular Thai dishes like Pad Krapao and Mango Sticky Rice at a cheap price. The food court here is very packed, especially at noon or after working hours, and the queue at the cashier can be long. Here you need to deposit a cash card and top up your money in the card to buy food. You will get your deposit back when you return the card. In case you have a bank account in ASEAN countries which supports a mobile QR scan, you can scan and pay for your food without deposit for a card. You can learn more about Thailand’s PromptPay from our article here.

You can also find many places to dine on both the 4th and 5th floor as well. In case you do not prefer Thai food, there are plenty of choices for you to choose such as Santa Fe Steak, Sunrise Taco, Ootoya Japanese restaurant, Bon Chon Korean fried chicken, or even a Lebanese restaurant here.

Hidden Places for Leisure Not Everyone Knows

Did you know that inside Terminal 21, there are a few massage shops and nail salons as well? Other than those main attractions above, there are a few more leisure activities you can do here and many people did not know. There is a Let’s Relax premium massage shop on the 6th floor with the Hollywood theme.

I personally like this spa chain as they have multiple programs to offer which are well designed for you. A program such as “Dream Package” offers you a combination of feet and back massage for 90 minutes, which is a smart combination for a tourist who had spent too much time sitting on an aircraft to Bangkok.

There is also another hidden message shop with less crowded people on the 3rd floor with the Istanbul theme. Here is a small, cosy and relaxed massage place. Since this place is quite small, it is better for a short foot or Thai massage session for 30-60 minutes. You can always come and check for their services.

Nails salons can be found at the very back of the 3rd floor as well, a bit hidden behind those beautiful home decor and jewelry shops next to Eve and Boy shop. Of course, the looks won’t be complete without great nails. You can always come by and check for their services as well.

One last thing many people might not know is there is a cinema on the 6th floor. Of course it is a Hollywood theme, I would not be complete without a cinema. Here you can enjoy your favourite movies with nice popcorn as well as shopping for an electronic gadget.

Get Fully Retreat at Grande Centre Point Hotel

Apart from the shopping mall, there is also Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 located in the same building. The hotel offers the best amenities compared to the other hotel in the same location with a huge swimming pool as well as mini golf court, sauna and spa services – perfect retreat from the busy street of Asok.

Moreover, the location of this hotel is THE BEST where you can access both MRT metro and BTS skytrain system at the entrance of the hotel. This means you can easily go to any interesting area around Bangkok such as Ratchaprasong (Central World, Gaysorn Amarin, Erawan Shrine), Siam Square (Siam Paragon, MBK, BACC), Prompong and Silom

How to get there?

  • By BTS
This is the most convenient way to visit Terminal 21. Get off the train at BTS Asok station. The shopping mall is located right at the BTS station. You can enter the shopping mall from the skywalk which is connected from both ends of the BTS station.
  • By MRT
This is also another convenient way to visit Terminal 21. Get off the train at MRT Sukhumvit station. Use exit no.3 to go up to the ground level and enter the shopping mall from there or choose to go up another level which will lead to the skywalk. From this point, you can also access the shopping mall as well and it is more convenient from my view.
