Lately, my heart has been deeply rooted in Thai flavors, which led me to a place that feels like a warm embrace: Baan Khanitha. This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a multi-award-winning sanctuary of taste, including three consecutive years of Michelin recognition.

The soul of this place lies in “Ancient Thai Cuisine”—rare, heritage recipes that are hard to find elsewhere. Some names were completely new to me, yet every plate arrived looking like a work of art. Here’s a peek into the traditional wonders we explored today:
The Curries: A Symphony of Heritage

-
Gaeng Ngao Ngod: A gentle relative of the Sour Curry (Gaeng Som) but softer, less spicy, and incredibly well-balanced. It’s light and very easy to love.
-
Gaeng Singhol with Stuffed Chicken Wings: Deboned wings simmered in aromatic spices. It reminds me of a rich Massaman but with its own unique, creamy depth.
-
Gaeng Noppakao: A “Nine-Vegetable Curry” cooked in red chili paste with succulent prawns. The fragrance of kaffir lime leaves makes every spoonful soulful.
-
Gaeng Rawang Korat Wagyu: Similar to Panang, featuring melt-in-your-mouth Wagyu beef. Pair it with steamed jasmine rice, and it’s pure perfection.
-
Gaeng Ranjuan (Pork): An incredibly fragrant shrimp paste-based curry. It’s served with Cha-om omelets, creating a savory harmony that’s hard to beat.
-
Gaeng Som-Rom with Salted Egg: A Southern-style roasted curry with prawns, served alongside salted egg to balance the richness beautifully.
Sweet Endings

-
Kanom Bu-Ngat: A sophisticated take on “Buat” (coconut milk stew). Pumpkin, sweet potato, and taro are delicately carved into flowers, served in rich coconut milk with a romantic hint of rose.
-
Kanom Kho: My personal favorite! Chewy rice balls with a perfectly sweet coconut filling, swimming in fragrant coconut milk and topped with toasted white sesame.
Refreshing Sips & Brews

-
Majjhima Ratree: A vibrant Thai-style mocktail blending butterfly pea and lime. So refreshing!
-
Baan Khanitha Flower Tea: A delicate floral tea that cleanses the palate beautifully between bites.
-
Three-Color Lod Chong: A creative twist using purple sweet potato and pandan, elevated with creamy coconut and a bold shot of Espresso.
-
Ma De La (Latte): A stunning layered drink where the bitterness of Espresso meets the floral grace of jasmine and lavender.
The Experience
What truly touched me was the care behind every dish. Everything is MSG-free, using organic vegetables grown at their own farm in Khao Yai.
The ambiance is like dining inside a private art gallery—classic Thai décor where every detail feels intentional. For those seeking privacy, the upper floor offers beautifully decorated VIP rooms perfect for gatherings.

If you’re looking to experience authentic, rare Thai flavors in a setting that feels like home yet looks like a masterpiece, Baan Khanitha is the place. You’ll leave with a full heart and a very happy palate, just like I did.
